Nick Tetoros is a former professional boxer and kickboxer with over a decade of elite competition experiencel. Across his 11 year fight career, he held multiple titles, including World Kickboxing Champion (1998) and was ranked #8 in the world by the WBO in 2003.
Nick represented Australia at the pre-Olympic boxing trials and was a sparring partner to world champion Kostya Tszyu, contributing to elite-level fight preparation.
After retiring from professional competition in 2003, he transitioned into coaching, training clients across Melbourne’s top gyms before co-founding Fitness Ring with his wife, Tonia.
Nick specialises in boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, with a strong emphasis on proper technique, intelligent programming, and long-term progression. His coaching style is firm but approachable - focused on building skill, confidence, and strength in a supportive environment.
Qualifications:
Certificate III & IV in Fitness, Boxing for PTs Level 2, TRX Suspension Training Level 1, and First Aid & CPR.
Q. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
The best way to start my morning is by waking up to teach my Boot Camp and private sessions. Starting off the day in a positive and active way.

Soul/Funk music, especially James Brown!

A whole grilled snapper, greek salad, and galactobouriko.

Tonia is the heart and organiser behind Fitness Ring. As a Managing Director and Studio Concierge, she personally coordinates group bookings, corporate team-building sessions, entertainment bookings, special events, and commercial and video shoots - ensuring every detail runs smoothy and every guest feels taken care of.
Originally from Calgary, Canada, Tonia brings a wealth of experience from the global weight-loss and wellness industry, having worked across both sides of the Pacific with leading wellness organisations.
Like many, Tonia’s own fitness journey wasn’t linear. After rediscovering boxing through Nick, she found not just physical strength, but confidence, clarity, and purpose - a transformation that shaped her approach to coaching and life.
When pregnant, Tonia formalised her passion for helping others by completing her Life Coaching qualifications. For the past 16 years, she has continued that mission through Fitness Ring, supporting clients inside and outside the studio.

I love the 90's Grunge genre. NIN, Alice In Chains, Guns N Roses, Skid Row, Tool, to name a few... And of course lots of greek tunes to pick up the mood.

MICHAEL VIRGONA

Michael’s passion for fitness began over 13 years ago through his background in Taekwondo, where he competed at a high level for 10 years. He later completed his Certificate III & IV in Personal Training and has been coaching ever since.
Michael takes a holistic approach to health, specialising in strength and conditioning while helping clients become stronger both inside and outside the gym. He’s known for his calm, encouraging style and his ability to meet people where they’re at - whether they’re new to training or ready to push further.
He believes consistency and smart training lead to long-term benefits, and works closely with clients to build habits that last well beyond the studio.
